History

In 1971, Shinwa Rules Co., Ltd. was established by integrating three measuring instrument manufacturers, Watanabe Doki Seisakusho, Hanyu Keiki and Watasei Doki, to enhance manufacturing productivity in anticipation of Japan's economic growth. We installed automated plating machinery, extended manufacturing plants, and a wastewater treatment facility to prevent hazardous material leaks.


1977

Received first patent for mass-production technology for calibrating stainless steel rules with stable quality. Developed business over 12 years, established development department, added three production plants, and increased capital stock from 15.5 million yen to 95.5 million yen.


1989

Installed a manufacturing facility for first non-measuring instrument product, sheet heating element


1990

Won good company special award for innovating metallic measuring instrument production process to mass production, exploiting new market in home improvement retail, and achieving diversification of business lines.


1991

Established first business office outside Japan in Dalian, China, and a manufacturing plant nearby in 1994, which now employs over 300 local staff.


1999

Acquired ISO 9000/ISO 9001 accreditation resulting in a significant increase in inquiries from overseas customers.


2000

Won Niigata Prefecture business promotion award for outstanding performance in sales and developing best-selling measuring instruments in Japanese market.


2001

Approved as accredited manufacturer of Japan Calibration Service System.


2007

Established first sales branch in North America, Shinwa Measuring Tools Corporation, in Illinois.


2013

Installed laser cutting processing machine in manufacturing plant and approved as accredited manufacturer under International MRA.
